To replace the lost convoy ship a new Wappen von Hamburg was built in 1686 and 1687. It was in service until 1719.

The WAPPEN VON HAMBURG was built by a Dutch shipbuilding master at the Deichtor shipyard in Hamburg.

After some delay the construction work started in spring of 1667 when the keel was laid down. The wood work was finished in 1668, then the armaments were installed, and in 1669 the ship was finally brought into service.

The ship served as an escort vessel accompanying trade ships on voyages to Malaga, Cadiz, Lisbon and north till Spitsbergen.
